Changing your email or password

Keep your account secure and accessible by updating your email or password when needed.

Changing your email

On the website

  1. Sign in to your Kivly account
  2. Go to SettingsAccount
  3. Click Change Email
  4. Enter your new email address
  5. Enter your current password to confirm
  6. Click Save Changes
  7. Verify your new email (check inbox)

On mobile app

  1. Open Kivly app
  2. Tap ProfileSettings
  3. Select Account Settings
  4. Tap Email Address
  5. Enter new email
  6. Confirm with password
  7. Verify via email

Email verification

  • Verification link sent to new email
  • Must verify within 24 hours
  • Old email remains active until verified
  • Notification sent to old email for security

Changing your password

Standard password change

  1. Go to SettingsSecurity
  2. Click Change Password
  3. Enter current password
  4. Enter new password (min 8 characters)
  5. Confirm new password
  6. Click Update Password

Password requirements

  • At least 8 characters
  • One uppercase letter
  • One lowercase letter
  • One number
  • One special character (!@#$%^&*)
  • Cannot be previous 3 passwords

Creating a strong password

Good passwords:

  • Mix of letters, numbers, symbols
  • Unique to Kivly (not reused)
  • 12+ characters ideal
  • Passphrase: "Wellness2025!@Kivly"

Avoid:

  • Common words ("password", "welcome")
  • Personal info (birthday, name)
  • Sequential numbers ("12345")
  • Repeated characters ("aaaaaa")

Forgot password

Resetting your password

  1. Go to sign-in page
  2. Click Forgot Password?
  3. Enter your email address
  4. Check email for reset link
  5. Click link (valid 1 hour)
  6. Create new password
  7. Sign in with new password

Not receiving reset email?

  • Check spam/junk folder
  • Verify correct email address
  • Wait 5 minutes and try again
  • Contact support if still not received

Updating other account info

Name

Settings → Account → Edit Name

Profile photo

Settings → Account → Change Photo

Date of birth

Cannot be changed (contact support for corrections)

Timezone

Settings → Preferences → Timezone

Security best practices

Protect your account

  • Use unique password for Kivly
  • Enable two-factor authentication
  • Don't share login credentials
  • Sign out on shared devices
  • Update password every 6 months

If account compromised

  1. Change password immediately
  2. Enable 2FA
  3. Review recent activity
  4. Contact support
  5. Check linked accounts

Common issues

"Current password is incorrect"

  • Try password reset instead
  • Ensure caps lock is off
  • Check for extra spaces
  • Try different browser if web

"Email already in use"

  • Email belongs to another account
  • Check if you have multiple accounts
  • Contact support to merge accounts

"Verification email expired"

  • Request new verification email
  • Check email within 24 hours
  • Add no-reply@kivly.org to contacts

Managing multiple emails

Primary email:

  • Used for sign-in
  • Receives all notifications
  • Password reset destination
  • Account recovery contact

Adding backup email: Settings → Security → Add Recovery Email

  • Used if primary is inaccessible
  • Receives security alerts
  • Account recovery option

Account recovery

Can't access your email?

  1. Contact support@kivly.org
  2. Provide:
    • Full name
    • Account email
    • Last successful sign-in date
    • Subscription information
    • Answer security questions
  3. Identity verification required
  4. Support will help recover access
