Troubleshooting sync issues

Data not syncing

Check these first:

  1. Device has battery power
  2. Kivly app is updated
  3. Wearable device app is updated
  4. Internet connection is stable
  5. Permissions weren't revoked

Force a sync:

  1. Open wearable device app
  2. Ensure latest data is there
  3. Open Kivly app
  4. Go to Connected Devices
  5. Tap Sync Now on the device

Duplicate data appearing

If activities show twice:

  1. Check which devices are connected
  2. Disconnect redundant sources
  3. Contact support to clean duplicates

Prevention:

  • Connect primary device only
  • Use platform integrations (Apple Health, Google Fit) instead of individual devices
  • Disable auto-tracking in Kivly if wearable handles it

Missing sleep data

Common causes:

  • Sleep tracking not enabled on wearable
  • Permissions for sleep not granted
  • Wearable didn't detect sleep
  • Sync happened before morning update

Solutions:

  1. Check wearable's native app for sleep data
  2. Verify sleep permissions in Kivly
  3. Manually add sleep if data is incorrect
  4. Contact support if chronic issue

Heart rate not showing

Verify:

  • Wearable tracks heart rate (not all do)
  • Heart rate permission granted to Kivly
  • Wearable worn properly for tracking
  • Recent sync completed

Best practices

For accurate tracking:

  • Wear device consistently (especially at night)
  • Keep device charged
  • Update device firmware regularly
  • Sync at least once daily
  • Verify data periodically

Optimize battery life:

  • Disable continuous HR if not needed
  • Reduce sync frequency if possible
  • Turn off GPS for indoor activities
  • Update to latest firmware (often improves battery)

Maximize insights:

  • Connect primary device only
  • Enable all relevant permissions
  • Review weekly sync summaries
  • Provide feedback on unusual data
  • Update wellness goals as fitness improves

Alternative: Manual tracking

If you don't have a wearable:

  • Manually log activities in Kivly
  • Use smartphone sensors (steps, stairs)
  • Estimate based on perceived effort
  • Focus on consistency over precision
